Terms of use
These terms explain how you may use SproutSmile to learn about children’s dental care and get matched with a pediatric dentist. We keep them clear so you know what to expect from our free service.
Using SproutSmile
SproutSmile is a free website for parents and guardians in the United States. We share general educational information about children’s dental care and help families get matched with participating pediatric or general dental offices.
By using this site, you agree to use it lawfully and for personal, family use. Please do not use the site in a way that could harm the site, interfere with other users, or send false, misleading, or unwanted messages.
You should use this site only if you are an adult parent, guardian, or another adult allowed to act for a child. If you contact us, please share your own contact details so we can follow up with you about finding a dentist for your child.
What our matching service does
SproutSmile is not a dental office, dentist, insurance company, or healthcare provider. We do not treat patients, schedule care directly, or make decisions about what dental services your child needs.
Our service is simple. You may provide parent or guardian contact details, and we use that information to help connect you with a participating pediatric or general dental office in your area. The service is free for families. Participating dental offices pay us a flat marketing or matching fee.
We do not promise that a dentist will be available in every area, that an office will accept your insurance, or that you will receive an appointment right away. Office hours, languages spoken, insurance participation, and appointment openings can change.
Any decision to choose a dentist, book a visit, ask about treatment, or continue care is always yours. Once you connect with a dental office, that office is responsible for its own services, policies, pricing, scheduling, and care.
No medical or dental advice
The information on SproutSmile is for general education only. It is not medical advice or dental advice, and it does not replace advice from a licensed pediatric or general dentist, doctor, or other qualified healthcare professional.
We may explain common topics parents ask about, such as a child’s first dental visit, baby teeth, fluoride, sealants, nitrous oxide, sedation, Medicaid, or CHIP. That information is general and may not fit your child’s needs. Rules, coverage, and dental practice laws can vary by state.
If you have questions about pain, swelling, injury, fever, infection, urgent symptoms, a treatment plan, medicines, sedation, or whether your child should be seen soon, talk to a licensed pediatric or general dentist. If you think your child has a medical or dental emergency, call 911 or seek emergency care right away.
For more details about the limits of our content, please read our disclaimer.
Information you share with us
We keep the information we ask for simple. To help you get matched with a dental office, we collect parent or guardian contact details such as your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, and similar basic details.
We do not ask you to send your child’s medical history, dental records, X-rays, Social Security number, or health records through the site. Please do not submit detailed medical information about your child on our forms.
If you want to learn how we collect, use, and protect your information, please read our privacy policy.
Accuracy, availability, and outside offices
We try to keep our site helpful and up to date, but we cannot promise that every page will always be complete, accurate, or available at all times. Dental guidance, insurance rules, Medicaid and CHIP coverage details, and office participation may change.
We also cannot guarantee the actions, statements, quality of care, availability, prices, or results of any dental office you may contact through SproutSmile. Costs vary by office, insurance plan, and area. Many children’s preventive visits are covered by insurance, Medicaid, or CHIP for eligible families, but coverage depends on your plan and state.
You are responsible for checking important details directly with the dental office, including whether the office is accepting new patients, what ages they see, what languages they speak, whether they accept your insurance, and what costs may apply before your child’s visit.
